Oral Microbiome Test

The Oral Microbiome Test is a functional assessment used to evaluate the microbial environment of the mouth and its relationship to both oral and systemic health.

The oral cavity contains a complex ecosystem of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms that play a significant role in dental health, immune function, and overall wellbeing. How The Test Works

The test is carried out using oral saliva and swab specimens collected at home using the provided kit. Samples are analysed using two complementary technologies:

• PCR (polymerase chain reaction): detects and quantifies microbial DNA directly from the sample, providing precise identification of oral organisms
• MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry: supports rapid and accurate identification of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance markers

Results are available within 14 business days of the laboratory receiving the sample.
