    Mold Toxicity Test

    Get Quote

Mold toxicity is one of the most commonly missed root causes in chronic illness. The symptoms it produces, including fatigue, brain fog, respiratory issues, mood changes, and digestive problems, are so varied that they are regularly misdiagnosed as IBS, depression, or anxiety. If you have been struggling with unexplained symptoms that nothing seems to resolve, mold exposure could be the hidden cause that has gone undetected.

The NutraNourish Mold Toxicity Test is a comprehensive urine-based mycotoxin panel that measures the actual toxic load of mold in your body. It screens for 11 different mycotoxins using a cutting-edge lab assay, giving you and your practitioner a clear picture of your exposure level and a foundation for building a targeted detox and recovery program.

This is particularly relevant in Singapore and tropical climates across Asia, where high humidity creates ideal conditions for mold growth in homes, workplaces, and buildings.

    What The Test Measures

The NutraNourish Mycotoxin Panel screens for 11 mycotoxins covering renal, immune, and neurological health concerns:

    • Aflatoxin M1
    • Ochratoxin A and B
    • Zearalenone
    • Trichothecenes including Satratoxin G and H, and Roridin A and E
    • Gliotoxin
    • Chaetoglobosin
    • Verrucarin A
    • Sterigmatocystin

    Who Should Do This Test

Mold toxicity is often the last thing people consider because the symptoms mimic so many other conditions. This test is worth doing if you are experiencing any of the following with no clear explanation:

    • Chronic fatigue or exhaustion that persists even after adequate sleep
    • Brain fog, poor memory, or difficulty concentrating
    • Respiratory problems, including coughing, wheezing, chest congestion, or asthma-like symptoms
    • Unexplained headaches or migraines
    • Digestive issues, including nausea, bloating, or irregular bowel movements
    • Skin irritation, rashes, or itching
    • Mood changes including anxiety, depression, or irritability
    • Joint stiffness or muscle pain
    • Disturbed sleep
    • Frequent infections or a generally weakened immune system
    • Hormonal imbalances with no clear cause
    • Suspected Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS)

You may also be at higher risk if you live or work in a building with poor ventilation, past water damage, or visible dampness, or if you work in carpentry, farming, plumbing, dairy, or baking.

    How It Works

The test is simple, non-invasive, and done entirely at home using a first morning urine sample. A few things to note before collecting your sample: avoid glutathione, charcoal, bentonite clay, or similar binders for at least 3 days beforehand, and avoid antifungal medications for 48 hours prior. No fasting is required, but stay normally hydrated the night before. After collection, the sample is frozen for a minimum of 1 day before being securely packaged and shipped to the laboratory. Results are available within 2 to 5 weeks through a secure online portal, reviewed and interpreted by a certified functional medicine practitioner.

Once your results are ready, NutraNourish provides a personalised detox and healing program based on your specific mycotoxin load, targeting the root cause rather than just managing symptoms.

    Important Notes on Mold Toxicity

Mold toxicity is not the same as a mold allergy. A mold allergy is an immune overreaction to mold spores causing acute symptoms like sneezing and watery eyes. Mold toxicity is the accumulation of mycotoxins inside the body over time, driving systemic inflammation and affecting multiple body systems, including the brain, gut, hormones, and immune function.

Mycotoxins can remain detectable in the body for anywhere from a few hours to several months after exposure, depending on the type of toxin, the individual's detoxification capacity, and whether ongoing exposure is still occurring.
